Jumpy Pardo

Jumpy Pardo is an installation created for the 75th Locarno Film Festival. This is a multiplayer interactive game inspired by the official festival poster. The two-players gaming platform is designed with retro games in mind. The players will stand in front of the game, while being shielded from the sun and the rain.

The action of the game is displayed on a large monitor, the movement of the main hero leopard is controlled with the help of physical objects. While one player walks on the treadmill to make the character walk, the other player has to jump at the right time to make him avoid the obstacles. The goal of the game is to help the leopard to arrive in time for the movie screening in Piazza Grande by avoiding obstacles and scoring points.

My role in the project was to design the visual part of the game based on the official poster of the festival. I animated the characters and backgrounds and created the different scenes of the game.
